The Latin American Maternal and Newborn Health Initiative

Infante Sano, offers a alternative to flowers, chocolate and brunch this Mother's Day. For $25, you can honor your mother by helping another---ensuring that women in Latin America and the Caribbean have access to a clean, safe birth and their children have the healthy starts to life that they deserve. They’ll send a card letting your loved one know that you sponsored a birth in her honor for Mother’s Day!

Infante Sano, Spanish for Healthy Infant, is a non-profit organization with the mission to improve the health and well-being of mothers and newborns in Latin America and the Caribbean. Every year throughout the developing world, over 10 million mothers and children die during pregnancy, childbirth and the first month of life. Providing simple, effective, low-cost interventions could prevent over half of these deaths. Infante Sano has designed a program that partners with existing hospitals and clinics to provide life-saving trainings and necessary medical equipment. Their core values - Respect, Improve, Sustain, Empower - drive their programs, which appropriately build upon local capacity, promote sustainability, and recognize every person's right to basic health care.
