National Geographic has always been a loved and trusted brand in our house as well as in my classroom! So we were thrilled when we were given the opportunity to review The Weird But True Book by National Geographic Kids! At last, all those weird but true facts my kids and students love so much are collected into a fun-filled book!
Weird But True is based on the hugely popular magazine page of quirky, fun facts that many readers of National Geographic Kids magazine turn to first.
•The world's oldest pet goldfish lived to be 43 years old?
•The world's longest soap bubble was as long as four school buses?
•On Neptune, the wind blows up to 1,243 miles an hour?
•An elephant's tooth can weigh as much as a bowling ball?
All of the facts in this handy book just totally amaze my kids and they can't wait to share these facts with friends and family! I appreciate the adjacent pages for each fact that presents a one-paragraph explanation of how that fact is possible or why it is so. I also like how these wacky facts, fascinating information, and lively art are combined into an easy-to-browse, reference book for my little ones. We highly reccommend that you check out this fun book that is sure to give your young readers hours of fun.
