LISTERINE Oral Care Challenge

50 percent of children will have a cavity or filling between the ages of five and nine.
Perceived healthy snacks such as fruit juice and milk can also be
the source of cavities.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists (AAPD) recommends parents schedule an
appointment with a dentist as soon as the first tooth appears.

When I think of Halloween, I think of candy, candy, and more candy! Which means sugar bugs on teeth!! To help with the candy frenzy, Listerine and Reach created the October Oral Care Challenge. Ella was thrilled that she was able to participate in this worthwhile challenge! To complete the challenge, we pledged to brush, floss and rinse every day, twice a day for three weeks—a key step in building a strong foundation of good oral care habits.

To participate we were sent an assortment of adult and children's products to help build a healthy regimen of brushing, flossing and rinsing every day, twice a day. We received the items pictured below. The makers of LISTERINE and REACH have also teamed up with America's Toothfairy to launch "Trick or Treat for America's Toothfairy," a campaign to raise awareness of pediatric dental disease and help provide life changing care to underprivileged children.

We also received the calendar and stickers (pictured below) to help us track Ella's progress.

Some valuable information from Listerine:

Ella is really good about brushing and flossing so the major goal of this challenge was to get her to rinse regularly. I really didn't know where to start in finding an appropriate rinse for a six year old. Listerine suggests:

If your child is just learning to brush, try a pre-brush rinse like…
Used before brushing, it tints teeth blue so kids pay attention when cleaning their teeth; giving kids a sense of accomplishment that they are doing a good job and reinforcing the positive behavior.

When cavity protection is a priority, try a post-brush rinse like…
This is an anti-cavity mouthwash for kids ages six and older that helps clean and protect teeth beyond brushing alone. The MAGNETIC CLEANING ACTION™ attracts particles—showing kids in the sink what brushing may have missed.

So, after figuring out the appropriate rinse, Ella was set to complete her challenge! We are happy to report that our calendar is just about full of reward stickers! Ella has done an excellent job rinsing, flossing, and brushing!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of LISTERINE and REACH and received products to take the Oral Care Challenge. Mom Central Consulting also sent me a Global Giving gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Actually, some of what gets smeared on bathroom taps and the top of vanity units is cleaning products: toothpaste and soap. All you need to do to remove this is give it a good rub with a damp flannel or cloth and it comes away easily ...

It is so important for us to have excellent oral care and indeed, we need to have dental care essentials in maintaining our oral health. We also need to go to a dentist for regular dental check-up. But for those who are afraid to go to them, sedation dentistry (Raleigh area) are the ones you can really count on. With painless dental procedures, surely sedation dentistry (Raleigh, NC) will be the new trend in the fields of dentistry nowadays.
