Verizon Wireless News

For the ninth consecutive year, Verizon Wireless has been named one of the best companies for working moms by Working Mother magazine.

As a mother of two young boys and an executive director at Verizon Wireless, Donna Lyden, knows what it’s like to juggle two demanding jobs. Luckily, she is able to balance her career with being a mom because of the company she works for. Now, how she defines balance may be very different than the Webster definition. To her, balance means that she's at the football field in her heels and suit, but at least she's there.

The benefits Verizon Wireless offers make a difference in peoples’ lives. In the first six months of the year alone, they provided 17,600 hours (or 2,200 days) of backup care – this is time that employees would have otherwise had to use as vacation or personal days for those days when schools get out early, there’s a teacher’s convention or daycare is closed.

See for yourself by viewing a video of a day in the life of Joanna Carbajal, a customer service supervisor and mom, who provides support to their bilingual customers after getting her kids ready for school.
