{GIVEAWAY} Energizer Weather Preparedness Tool Kit

Spring showers may bring beautiful flowers, but, they also can lead to dangerous situations and power outages that we are not prepared for. That's why Energizer, the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS) are working together to help families prepare for whatever weather situations spring, summer and hurricane seasons might bring their way. A key reminder in preparedness is to use flashlights instead of candles if a storm knocks out the power. Many home fires are started by burning candles left unattended, with an average of 15,000 home fires caused each year.

The recommended emergency power kit includes a flashlight for each member of the family, a battery-powered radio for weather updates, a battery-powered cell phone charger to stay connected to loved ones and extra batteries, including those for critical devices such as insulin pumps, hearing aids and blood pressure monitors. Thanks to Energizer we are now prepared when severe weather occurs.

GIVEAWAY:
We have an emergency power kit for one lucky reader. The kit comes in a red bag and
contains the types of items to think about including in a back-up power kit: battery-operated radio, flashlight, cell phone charger and extra batteries.

My "emergency bag" is more like a storage tub. Crank-powered flashlights and a battery-operated radio are the number one items I keep inside.

In my emergency pack I would certainly have a few gallons of water. You can live on only that for a few days.

It's small, most don't think about including it and hopefully it never has to be used in an emergency situation - a whistle! :)

My emergency bag has batteries of every size. Do I have flashlights? No - because we keep "borrowing" them from the kit and don't put them back.

Oh good - that Miley Cyrus song I hate is gone :-)
