Tuck Me In!
By Dean Hacohen and Sherry Scharschmidt
Sept. 2010 ~ Hardcover ~ ISBN 9780763647285 ~ Ages 1.5-4

Who needs to be tucked in? Turn each page until all baby animals--and little readers--are cozy and ready for sleep in this bedtime ritual. Ella just loves the rhythmic nighttime chant in this book! Ella loves the zoo of animals in this book, for examples, it includes a hedgehog, pig, alligator, moose, peacock, and her favorite the elephant! This is a great book for teaching little ones to identify the animals. The digital illustrations are colorful basic shapes with quick brush strokes for adding details and feeling.

Ella enjoys lifting the blanket-shaped flaps over the animal babies to reveal who is ready to be tucked in! In the end, Ella joins the animals, as the book concludes, "Does anyone else need to be tucked in? Do you? Good night, you!"

Moon Dreams
By Ruth Martin
Illustrated by Olivier Latyk
Aug. 2010 ~ Hardcover ~ ISBN 9780763650124 ~ Ages 4-7

Luna loves to look at the Moon, but she wonders where it goes during the day. Her dreams take her on a journey as she searches far and wide. The story focuses on a little girl named Luna and her fascination with the moon. Each night she wonders where it goes during the day. In the end she realizes that the moon is there all the time, waiting until nighttime to shine in the sky and watch over her. I love how this book has encouraged Ella to be more aware of the moon. She has really learned a lot from this great book!

Interrupting Chicken
By David Ezra Stein
Aug. 2010 ~ Hardcover ~ ISBN 9780763641689 ~ Ages 4-8

This fun story begins at bedtime, despite a rooster papa's best efforts to share classic fairy tales with his daughter, Little Red Chicken's soft heart means she can't help but jump into each story. She just had to warn Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood, and assure Chicken Little! This is such an entertaining book, our whole family enjoys it! The humor of this picture book has brought lots of laughs from our kids. I also love the dramatic and vivid pictures that were created with watercolor, water-soluble crayon, and pen and ink! This is a book the whole family will enjoy and appreciate!

A Bedtime for Bear
By Bonny Becker
Illustrated by Kady MacDonald Denton
Sept. 2010 ~ Hardcover ~ ISBN 9780763641016 ~ Ages 5-7

This is such a heartwarming story of friendship and new experiences. A Bedtime for Bear has become a bedtime favorite of Ella's. Bear needs everything perfectly quiet at night, so when his friend shows up for a sleepover, he is worried. All goes well until Mouse's noises disturb him. Then Mouse falls asleep, and Bear hears something. Mouse checks under the bed, and then both fall asleep together. Denton's watercolor, ink, and artwork brings mouse and bear to life. Bear and Mouse are the perfect companions for little ones at bedtime.
