The Pioneer Woman

After school on Tuesday, Melissa and I jumped in the car and drove THREE hours (in the pouring rain and WIND) to Nashville to see Ree, The Pioneer Woman!!! Not only did we get to meet Ree, but we also met her sweet friend Hyacinth and adorable sister Wetsy!

The book signing didn't start until 8:00 our time and we received a ticket to meet Ree with Group 16 (each group had 25 people in it)! So, we had dinner and shopped a little before heading back to the bookstore around 9:45. While waiting for our group we met this sweet girl (pictured below) that just happened to have two EXTRA tickets for Group 9 and offered them to us :) Therefore, we were able to meet Ree and be back on the road around 11:00. I would hate to imagine what time we would have left if we would had to wait until Group 16 was called!!!!

We returned home around 1:30 AM, but it was so worth it to get to meet Ree and get our cook books signed by her!! Such a treat even if I had to get up and teach children the next day :))

About Ree's Cook Book:

The Pioneer Woman Cooks is a homespun collection of photography, rural stories, and scrumptious recipes that have defined my experience in the country. Ree shares many of the delicious cowboy-tested recipes she has learned to make during her years as an accidental ranch wife—including Rib-Eye Steak with Whiskey Cream Sauce, Lasagna, Fried Chicken, Patsy's Blackberry Cobbler, and Cinnamon Rolls—not to mention several "cowgirl-friendly" dishes, such as Sherried Tomato Soup, Olive Cheese Bread, and CrÈme BrÛlÉe. She shows her recipes in full color, step-by-step detail, so it's as easy as pie to follow along.

You'll also find colorful images of rural life: cows, horses, country kids, and plenty of chaps-wearing cowboys.

I highly recommend that you order a copy today!!
